Born Ralph Zink in Brandon, Manitoba on December 2, 1904, he moved with his family to California as a child. Between the 1930s and 1970s, he is appeared in more than 75 films, including The Frisco Kid, The Return of Tin Tin Tin, and True Grit, 150 TV shows and nearly 100 stage productions.
