June 3, 1921 - Actress Dorothy Patrick was born Dorothea Wilma Davis at St. Boniface Hospital.

June 3, 1935 - The Winnipeg Rifles were granted the prefix Royal making them the Royal Winnipeg Rifles. Check out their regimental museum at Minto Armouries.
