Mar. 16: Manitoba's crocus; Centennial Library opens.

March 16, 1906 – The anemone patens, also known as the prairie crocus, became the official floral emblem of Manitoba.   

March 16, 1977 - The Centennial Library, now Millennium Library, was officially opened.
