In May 1928 William Kanuka, P. Korzenowski and D. Prytuula from the Dauphin area invaded the home of an elderly couple in Fishing River, MB looking for a rumoured stash of cash. They beat the couple and 81 year-old Anna Cottick died of a heart attack. There was no money at the house.
