February 16, 1939 - A rare triple hanging at Headingley Gaol.

In May 1928 William Kanuka, P. Korzenowski and D. Prytuula from the Dauphin area
invaded the home of an elderly couple in Fishing River, MB looking for a rumoured stash of cash. They beat the couple and 81 year-old Anna Cottick died of a heart attack. There was no money at the house.

February 16, 1900 – The Winnipeg Victorias are beaten by the Montreal Shamrocks, losing the Stanley Cup final series 3 games to 1.
