November 22, 1894 - The Killarney Guide (weekly newspaper) begins publication.

November 22, 1884John Higgins dies. Arriving in the 1850s he was an early merchant of Red River and a member of the first Winnipeg City Council. Higgins Avenue is named for him.

November 22, 1970 - Maitland B. Steinkopf dies in Winnipeg. A lawyer and politician, (the first Jewish person to hold a provincial cabinet post), he is best remembered as the president of the Manitoba Centennial Corporation where he was instrumental in the construction of the Concert Hall, Manitoba Museum, Planetarium, Manitoba Theatre Centre,and Brandon's Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium.
